The Little Byte LLC — caper
privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information The Little Byte LLC collects through Caper, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. Because Caper records and transcribes meetings, it pays special attention to audio recordings, transcripts, and the people in your meetings. In short: we use your information to provide and improve Caper, we do not sell it, and you can access or delete it by emailing us.

Who we are
Caper is operated by The Little Byte LLC, a Texas limited liability company based in Austin, Texas (“The Little Byte,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). For privacy purposes, The Little Byte LLC is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. This policy applies to the Caper application, our website, and related services (together, “Caper”). It works alongside our Terms of Service. You can reach us about privacy at willie@thelittlebyte.com.
Information we collect
Account and identity
When you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from your Google account, including your name, email address, profile details Google makes available, and your Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password.
Google Calendar data (read-only)
With your authorization, Caper reads your Google Calendar so it can show your meetings and attach your notes to them. This may include event titles, descriptions, dates and times, attendee names and email addresses, response status, and meeting join links.
Meeting content
When you record a meeting, we collect the audio Caper captures (which may include your microphone and the meeting or other participants' audio), the transcripts generated from that audio, and the notes, summaries, and guidance Caper generates or that you create and edit.
Usage and device information
We collect information about how you interact with Caper — such as features used, actions taken, and timestamps — along with app version, device and operating-system type, language, and similar diagnostic data. Some of this is collected through analytics (see Cookies and analytics).
Communications
If you contact us, join the alpha or a waitlist, or otherwise communicate with us, we collect the information you provide.
Where information comes from
We collect information:
- directly from you, when you sign up, configure Caper, record, or contact us;
- from your device, when Caper captures meeting audio you choose to record;
- from Google, when you connect your Google account and calendar; and
- from meeting participants whose voices are captured in recordings you create. We receive that audio through you, and you are responsible for obtaining any consents and giving any notices required by law before recording, as described in our Terms of Service.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide Caper — capture and transcribe meetings and generate notes, summaries, and live guidance;
- sync and display your calendar and connect your notes to your meetings;
- create and maintain your account and authenticate you;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve the Service and develop new features;
- communicate with you about support, the alpha, and changes to the Service; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We use your information to provide and improve Caper. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How AI and transcription work
To transcribe your meetings and generate notes, summaries, and guidance, we transmit your audio and/or transcripts, along with related meeting context, to the transcription and AI providers listed in Sub-processors. These providers process this content on our behalf to return results to us.
We use your meeting content to provide and improve Caper, and we do not sell it. Our providers process data under their own terms; we select providers and configurations we believe offer appropriate protections for this purpose. Separately, information we receive from Google APIs is subject to the stricter limits described in Google API Limited Use, including a commitment not to use it to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.
Cookies and analytics
We and our analytics provider, PostHog, use cookies and similar technologies on our website and in the product to keep you signed in, remember preferences, understand how Caper is used, measure performance, and improve the Service. This may include usage events, pages or screens viewed, actions taken, and device or session identifiers.
We use analytics for our own product and website analytics only. We do not use cookies or analytics for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not sell the information they collect. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and we honor recognized opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control) where required by law. Disabling some cookies may affect how Caper works.

Google API Limited Use
Caper's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In particular, we use the data we receive from Google APIs — your basic Google profile and your Google Calendar — only to provide and improve the user-facing features of Caper (signing you in and showing your meetings and notes). We do not transfer or sell this data to third parties for advertising or other unrelated purposes, we do not use it for targeted advertising, we do not allow humans to read it except with your consent, for security, to comply with law, or in aggregated and anonymized form, and we do not use it to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine-learning models. You can manage or revoke Caper's access to your Google account at any time in your Google account settings.
Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide Caper, and after that for as long as reasonably necessary for legitimate purposes such as legal compliance, resolving disputes, and security. You can delete individual meetings, recordings, and notes within Caper, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing willie@thelittlebyte.com. Residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period before they are overwritten, and our sub-processors retain data according to their own policies and our configurations, which are intended to limit retention to what is needed to provide the Service.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and authentication through Google. Our operational server logs are configured to redact sensitive content — we do not record your transcript text, notes, prompts, or credentials in those logs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the rights below. To exercise any of them, email willie@thelittlebyte.com. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Everyone
You can update certain account information within Caper, request a copy or deletion of your data, and opt out of non-essential emails.
California (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the right to know and access the personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we use sensitive personal information only to provide Caper and as otherwise permitted without a right to limit. The categories of personal information we collect are: identifiers (such as name and email); internet or other electronic activity (usage data); audio and electronic information (recordings and transcripts); professional information (content captured in work meetings); and inferences drawn to provide features. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request.
Texas (TDPSA)
Texas residents have the right to confirm whether we process their personal data and to access it, to correct it, to delete it, to obtain a portable copy, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling — none of which we engage in. If we decline a request, you may appeal by emailing willie@thelittlebyte.com with “Appeal” in the subject line. If we deny your appeal, you may contact the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR)
If applicable, you have the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We rely on these legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide Caper to you); our legitimate interests (to secure, analyze, and improve the Service, balanced against your rights); your consent (where required, such as for certain cookies or sensitive data); and compliance with legal obligations.
Sensitive information
Audio recordings and the contents of conversations may include sensitive information. We use this information only to provide Caper's features to you and as described in this policy, and we do not use it to infer characteristics about you for advertising. Where the law requires consent to process this kind of data, you provide that consent by choosing to record and use these features, and you can withdraw it by stopping recording and deleting the related content.
International users
The Little Byte LLC is based in the United States, and we store and process information in the United States. If you access Caper from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, which may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your country. Where required for transfers from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
Caper is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and not from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at willie@thelittlebyte.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will post the updated policy with a new “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice (for example, by email or in-app notice). Your continued use of Caper after the changes take effect means you acknowledge the updated policy.
